Mike Bird – Head Coach / Operations
Coach Mike’s fitness journey began as a competitive gymnast. He has a storied injury history himself that has him well equipped to keep you safe as he stretches your limits.
As a coach, Mike’s positive energy will have you forgetting that you’re in the middle of a workout. He has a way of pulling more out of you than you thought you had to give, and have you smiling the whole time.
Mike enjoys a minimalist lifestyle and loves the idea of someday living off the land. He has several chickens and regularly brings in eggs to share with the members, and spends his time working with his hands whether that’s wood working, wrenching on his motorcycle or gardening.
Nate Birner – Business Manager / Marketing
Coach Nate grew up the fat kid. After learning to lift weights to lose fat, he got into powerlifting and his training career after was riddled with injury. He has had reconstructive surgery on on his left hip, both knees, and left foot (twice). Through intelligent training he has managed to avoid surgeries that were recommended on both shoulders as well as a third foot surgery.
He has been coaching since 2005 and has developed a passion for helping other people whose bodies don’t seem to want to cooperate navigate their fitness. As a coach he is very analytical and prefers to teach over being a cheerleader.
Personally Nate is a gear head and always likes to have something fast and fun to drive. If he’s not cruising or playing guitar, you’ll probably find him on the couch with the resident gym dog – a pit bull named “Kilo.”
